When the Altitude Gets to You

Ever had one of those moments where you forget you’re in the cockpit? I was in the middle of a pre-flight briefing and called for a ‘coffee break’ instead of a ‘crew brief.’ The look on my first officer’s face was priceless. Just goes to show, we all need to stay sharp even when we’re cruising.

I’ve definitely had my moments, too — once I accidentally tested the coffee maker instead of the navigation system! Staying sharp isn’t just about the big stuff; even the little routines matter. Maybe setting up a reminder for yourself before briefings could help?

I once called for a ‘cockpit check’ during taxi — oops! Those little slip-ups keep us all humble. Do you have any other funny stories from the cockpit?
